Take Me to Your Best Friend's House by Setta Jay

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

An ambitious spicy novella by a rising indie author in the romance space ❤️

Well done spicy scenes are incredibly difficult to do. Indie authors tend to fall into cringe or camp when writing intimate scenes, however this is where Setta Jay shines their brightest! Our main characters are able to show vulnerability and pleasure without becoming clichés or caricatures, which I really appreciated. Anyone who loves, or wants to explore age-gap / daddy kink will really enjoy this.

The novella is structured like a 400 page full romance novel, which is a little too ambitious for the format. We have lots of side characters including family, friends and the titular 'best friend', but no time or space to explore their importance. We have the taboo romance, and the barriers which would keep our main characters apart, but these are smoothed over too quickly for me.

Overall this is a great short read, from an indie author all romance readers should be keeping an eye on.

This book is best read at your best friends house, while laying on your stomach, with a pillow near by.
