Secret Service by Tal Bauer

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

A romantic-thriller, that leans hard on the thrill and the angst.

This dual POV gay romance between the President of the United States and his head of Secret Service flips between present day (when the president's car is found in a ball of flames and we think he might be dead), and the past when the president and Reese, his head of secret service meet for the first time causing sparks to fly.

Tal Bauer does a great job of creating angst between our two characters and setting up a forbidden love story where both sides deny each other's attractions before giving in. The romance is sweet, although other than a physical attraction to each other, they don't seem to have much else in common. There are explicit love scenes, but they're quick and left me wanting more. Especially since this is Reese's first gay experience, I wish Tal would have spent more time exploring what that felt like for the two of them.

This book is best read in the back of an armoured SUV, with a hot body guard sitting beside you, while your knees lightly brush and the back of your neck starts to heat. Make sure to buckle up, because it's going to be a wild ride.
