Chasing the Wild by Elliott Rose
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
A hot-AF forbidden cowboy romance that will make you want to have a cowboy of your very own.
Meet your new cowboy daddy in Colton Wilder, the off-limits, smoking hot dad to Layla's drunk, irresponsible ex-boyfriend. Layla is on her way to drop-off items her ex-bf left at her apartment, as she moves across the state. While stopping at the gas station in his hometown she meets the hottest, older cowboy she's ever seen. Later that day she knocks on her ex's door and who opens the door?!
I am just entering my cowboy era and what an amazing entry point I found in Chasing the Wild!
I love the main characters. Although Layla is 25, she's driven, finishing school as a vet and isn't looking for a knight in a cowboy hat. Daddy Colt is not ready for his feelings for Layla and tries his best not to act on them to protect his relationship with his son (Layla's ex).
While this book details with serious feelings and situation, Elliott has this quirky and fun brand of humour that has meet smiling and giggling throughout the story. "Praying to whatever patron saint of motor vehicles", "ovaries behaving like little sluts" lol.
