Hollow by Karina Halle

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

A dark Legend of Sleepy Hollow retelling with top tier kink romance.

Our FMC is Kat, a young witch just coming into her powers, who has grown up in Sleepy Hollow. One day her best-friend/lover, Brom, disappears with no trace. Our first MMC is Ichabod Crane who is haunted by his past, but hired by a mysterious academy for witchcraft. The same academy Kat finds herself attending. Our second MMC Brom, reappears after a four year absence with no memory of where he's been or why he left.

Karina does a great job of setting the scene to make Sleepy Hollow and the academy feel like it's closing around you. The forbidden romance between the young Kat and her older teacher is hot and includes D/s and impact play. When Brom returns on the scene, the second part of this duet is setting us up well for an MMF romance.

The pacing is great, the characters are interesting, the mystery keeps me turning the page and the smut is top tier.

This book is best read on horseback, while riding through a gnarled forest, guided only by moonlight.
